We’re in the midst of the holiday season, and we couldn’t be more grateful as we reflect on another amazing year. Although it’s an exciting time, the holidays can also bring some unnecessary stress. This year, remember what’s important–enjoying time spent with those you love.
If you’re in need of holiday spirit, we’ve selected a handful of our favorite local spots to relax, have fun, and enjoy the season.
Where to Go For:
THE BEST HOT CHOCOLATE:
Chocolaterie Stam, Old Town Lafayette.
This is TruDesign’s personal way of welcoming in the holiday season. Gourmet hot chocolate for the stressful days, the happy days, or pretty much every day. Seriously, it may be the real cure for any holiday blues.
GIANT CINNAMON ROLLS YOU WON’T WANT TO SHARE:
Moxie Bread Company, Main St. Louisville.
Take it from someone who regretted getting one to split, these made from scratch cinnamon rolls are serving us the treat yourself vibes we love this time of year. Moxie is also described as the place where “the good people in Louisville have come to feel better”, and we think the cinnamon rolls play no small part in that (but that’s just us).
LIVE CHRISTMAS ENTERTAINMENT:
Arvada Center for Performing Arts.
The Arvada Center for Performing Arts puts on a spectacular live rendition of “A Christmas Carol” until December 22nd. This production makes for a great date night or outing with family.
FESTIVE HAPPY HOUR:
St. Julien Hotel, Boulder.
We love family, but spending time with friends is also important for keeping you in the holiday mood. The St. Julien boasts elegant holiday decor and a happy hour perfect for getting in a couple of cocktails before the craziness begins! They also host a holiday brunch a few days out of the month. Their full schedule is listed here:
FOR FAMILIES WITH KIDS:
Chautauqua Winterfest 12/13-12/15, Boulder.
Horse-drawn carriage rides, ice-skating under the lights, pictures with Santa in his cottage, and holiday crafts–Winterfest is a great way to get the kids (and yourself) excited for the 25th.
